What you can do - Euro elections events in Brighton & Hove
We have a chance on May 23rd to send a very loud message to Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn.
They're trying to cobble together a deal to get Brexit over the line and we need to tell them that the "will of the people" has changed. A recent YouGov poll showed 61% of people would vote to remain versus May's deal - there is no longer a majority in the country for Brexit!
WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP GET OUR MESSAGE ACROSS?
We have printed 25,000 leaflets and we need to deliver them across the city between now and the 23rd of May. Can you help?
If you have never delivered before, now is your chance to join in with a group of fellow Lib Dems and really cover some ground.
We are organising two action days and will gather as many people to fan out across the ward delivering our message. We have also persuaded a couple of our EU candidates to come and send us off with some rousing thoughts about the importance of this election.
Saturday 11th May
HOVE PARK
Meet at 10am at 2 Hove Park Road, Hove, BN3 6LA. We'll be joined by Chris Bowers, one of our EU candidates (and biographer of Nick Clegg!) for a speech, followed by leaflet delivery.
We'll provide maps so you know where to deliver to and we expect each delivery to only take a couple of hours.
Saturday 18th May
GOLDSMID
Meet at 10am at 28 Avondale Road, Hove, BN3 6ER. This time our speaker will be Nick Perry, another one of our 10 EU parliamentary hopefuls.
Again, we expect the delivery to take about two hours.
Please come to one of our action days if you can, it's great to create a buzz around our chosen areas. Please email us at info@liberalbrighton.org to let us know if you're coming so we've an idea of numbers. But if you decide to turn up at the last minute that's okay too.
Thursday 23rd May
TELLING
We will man as many Polling Stations as possible on election day. Andrew England will organise the Telling Rota. If you would like to be a Teller, please contact Andrew at asengland77@gmail.com and let him know which time slot you would prefer.
Can't make the action days?
Don't worry, you will be very welcome to deliver at a time/place that best suits you! If you can't make one of our action days, or if you would like to deliver anything extra, then please reply to this email and let us know how many you'd like to deliver. (Typically 100 leaflets takes about an hour.) You are not restricted to Hove Park and Goldsmid. If you would like to deliver the leaflets in your own neighbourhood, then please get in touch.
