Councils face £54 billion shortfall
In a report issued today the County Councils Network (CCN) has forecast that councils across the country face a £54 billion shortfall over the next five years. Brighton & Hove City Council have already forecast that they face a £105 million shortfall over the same period. The CCN have stated that the prospect is that in future councils will need to cut services back so much that they could end up being only able to provide little more than care services by the end of the decade.
